Playday! It was a successful day of practice; everyone that came in one piece, left in one piece. We met up with old friends and made new ones. Some cars were dusted off from last year and some were brand new, everyone came to have a good time. The drivers and crews arrived early to enjoy the fresh octane and blue skies to start off the 2009 season.

The new tires are a perfect match for the AABLM. Mike Lovell, with his new # 15 late model, turned a time of 12.557. Kevin Ostern’s #36 black and orange late Model turned a time of 12.709. Forest Kuecker in his sharp white #79 was third quick of the day with a 12.867.

11 Late models showed up for playday, making this a very well attended event. We had drivers from all over; Junior Roddy of Gualala, Forrest Kuecker & Kevin Ostern of Lucerne, Mike Lovell, Redwood Valley, Eric Williamson of Ukiah and Chris Straka representing Lakeport.  New to the series attendees were; Jerry Wilkins, Corey James, Blair Aikens, Joey Aikens and Ken Gifford of Cobb.

We welcome all of you to the AABLM 2009 Late Model Series. Signups will still be available at the AABLM toter home headquarters during the season. We hope to have tee-shirts and photos available for the late models this year.  Special thanks to AABLM intern Caitie Miller for playday photography. Our regular photographers, Denise Doss and Cheryl Cook, will be back next week taking pics for the website. Be prepared.

TOP 5 THINGS TO DO BEFORE RACE DAY

5. Pull car out of garage, check for kittens.
4. Do a nut and bolt check, send wife to parts store
3. Get fire suit back from dry cleaners.
2. Call crew members, make necessary apologies.
1. Remove old tackle and bait from cooler, fill with fresh ice
