UPDATE: After a joint decision between Bob Cook (AABLM Official) and Brad Peter of John Peters Racing, AABLM will issue its first penalty, a disqualification as a result of rule infractions discovered during a post-race inspection at John Peters Racing in Lakeport Ca. (AABLM authorized crate engine re-builder) following the race at Redwood Acres Raceway. It was found that the #35 team’s crate engine did not conform to crate specifications. As a result, Car owner and driver Mike Doss was disqualified and all AABLM Championship points were revoked. Mike Doss was quoted “We bought this as a sealed crate engine and was just as shocked as John Peters that it was tampered with. We will not appeal this decision by AABLM officials and John Peters Racing, but we are contacting the source of the crate engine to let then know of our concern about the integrity of the crate engines.”
As a result of this finding, AABLM is issuing amnesty during the off season with the assistance of John Peters Racing in Lakeport Ca. (AABLM authorized crate engine re-builder). If you have them re-build your crate engine and it is discovered that it does not conform to crate specifications you will not be penalized, but it must be repaired by John Peters Racing back to legal specifications prior the season opener in 2011. AABLM officials and John Peter Racing are working on a plan to ensure the integrity of our crate engines for the 2011 tour.
